An Outdated Platform for a Digital-First Bank

Public Bank sought to revamp the outdated and cluttered PB Enterprise website and web application. The legacy system was running on an aging CMS with a rigid layout, limited content control, and no responsiveness — making it difficult to scale or support evolving business needs.

The challenges were compounded by the bank's strict security posture:

  • Outdated CMS Architecture: The legacy platform lacked modular content blocks, reusable templates, or streamlined publishing — making every content update a slow, technical process.
  • No Responsiveness: The existing web application had zero responsive design support, creating poor experiences across devices and failing accessibility expectations.
  • Security Constraints: Public Bank's strict anti-scam stance required every touchpoint — from CMS to frontend delivery — to comply with uncompromising security protocols and IT governance policies.
  • Architectural Limitations: External frameworks were prohibited under the bank's internal architecture guidelines, requiring a fully bespoke solution engineered within their constraints.
The Objective

Modernize the user interface and improve overall UX for various user groups — while ensuring the system meets stringent banking-grade security requirements and works within Public Bank's existing infrastructure constraints.

Mechanikos collaborated closely with Public Bank's internal product team to redesign the experience — aligning with modern UI/UX standards while staying within the bank's strict digital identity and governance frameworks.
